The proper name for this animal is Burchell's Zebra.
The average size of the Burchell's Zebra is about 700lbs.with large males
weighing 100lbs. to 200lbs. more. This Zebra weighed approximately 800lbs.
Zebras are very durable and difficult to kill. I was using a Ruger 77 MK II
rifle chambered in 416 Rigby, firing a 350gr. Barns X bullet. Even though
the shot was placed properly behind the shoulder the Zebra showed no sign of
being hit. The second shot however did secure my trophy.
